The Current Spiritual Climate

Romans 5:20 defines our current culture, the bad news and the good news. Let's beware and be who God designed us to be. #BibleLoveNotes #Biblestudy #Bible

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair…” Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities

Dicken’s opening description to A Tale of Two Cities sounds terribly similar to our present spiritual climate.

This is the worst of times: foolishness, incredulity,(1) darkness and despair…

Christian persecution is increasing around the globe (source), immorality is celebrated and has crept into the Church, false teachers are sharing a corrupted Gospel, many have watered down their faith.

We're also experiencing the best of times: wisdom, belief, Light and hope...

Genuine believers are standing firm, growing strong in God’s Word, speaking against compromise in the church. God's remnant is preparing for battle.

And God described it better than Dickens:
“Where sin increased, grace increased all the more” (Romans 5:20).
(1) the state of being unwilling or unable to believe something.
